EDM 1008: Dugsi Education (Quran Schooling)Description
Dugsi pedagogical enhancement focuses on integrating modern, formal educational methods into traditional, community-based Dugsi (Qur’anic schooling) to improve student academic achievement and cultural development. This often involves incorporating technology, professional development for teachers, and modern assessment strategies. Instructional practices, teacher professional development and support, technology and resources and fostering a supportive learning Environment are addressed.
Aim
To equip Dugsi teachers with the Islamic knowledge, pedagogical skills, and personal character needed to teach Qur’an and build a safe, disciplined, and compassionate learning environment that serves the wider Muslim community.
